Custom Made Simulated Leather Polaris Back Seat Saddle Bags that should fit almost any Polaris Snowmobile between the years of 1986 and 1999. I had these installed on both a 1987 Indy 500 as well as a 1995 Indy XLT Special. Basically these Saddle bags are Custom made to fit over the little hump at the back of the seat whether its a One up or two up seat. As long as it has the small hump you see on almost all 1987 to 199o's Polaris Seats.
These bags may also work with other brands like Arctic Cats, Yamaha or Skidoo is they have that small hump at the back of the seat.
The inside width from inner side of bag to bag is approx. 14" wide.
The height from the lower edge of the saddle bag to the top as it is about to go over the seat to the other side is approx. 14".
So how do they work?
They lay over the hump of the back seat. There is a small pocket designed into the Saddle Bag Strap Band in the center of the two bags. Then the Two bags lay on each side of the sled against the tunnel right at the back of the tunnel. There are Female side push snaps built into the saddle bags along the bottom edge. You will have to buy the male side push button snaps (just like the ones you find on leather coats and other coats with push snap enclosures instead of zippers).
You drill out holes at the specific locations that match the ones on the saddle bags and the rivet in place. Easy to do and easy to buy these snap buttons.
The bags than push and snap onto the tunnel. In addition there are channels sewn into the Bags that you would thread a bungee rope through and that bungee just adds extra assurance that you do not lose the bags and you attach the bungees to the bumper and a hole in your foot rails. Again easy to install. Its a pretty straightforward and easy installation process.
The saddle Bags have premium zippers and can hold a lot on each side. The equivalent of 10 to 12 Liters of snowmobile oil just to give you an idea.
This was a great accessory to have when we went on long trips way up North breaking trails into the hunt camps. Very handy they are. Load them up with food, drinks, supplies, clothing and more.
